TV wall mounting in Bondi

Bondi 2026 throws everything at a TV mount — federation solid-brick chimney walls, lath-and-plaster Art Deco partitions, and the plasterboard infill of post-2000s renovations. The drill bit and the anchor change for each.

From $180per TV — Standard plasterboard mounts from $180; brick or tile from $240; in-wall cable run from $80 extra.

What's included

  • ✓Wall mounting on plasterboard, brick, concrete, tile
  • ✓Fixed, tilt, and full-motion bracket installation
  • ✓In-wall cable concealment (where wall type allows)
  • ✓Soundbar and centre-speaker mounting
  • ✓TV setup and basic wall-mount-mode configuration

Bondi context

What tv wall mounting looks like in Bondi

On the older terrace blocks behind Hall Street and Wairoa Avenue, you'll often find a 230mm sandstock chimney breast as the only wall that can take a 65" TV — and even then the brick is so old that hammer-drilling it shatters rather than cuts. We use diamond percussion bits and chemical anchors there. In the modern flats off Bondi Road, plasterboard is standard but the studs sit at imperial spacings (16" or 24") rather than the metric layout newer brackets assume — we shim or use toggle bolts depending on the load.

Recent Bondi job

Recent: a 75" Samsung mounted in a Wairoa Avenue terrace lounge. Lath-and-plaster outer wall, original 1908 brickwork behind. Used 12mm chemical anchors through a stud-locator path; cable run in-wall via an existing power-point chase. Two-hour job, no patching needed.

Our process — same standard, every booking

  1. 1

    Locate studs and services

Stud finder plus knowledge of where Bondi sparkies usually run cables. We don't drill blind.

  2. 2

    Mount square

Bracket levelled to the laser, not the (usually crooked) skirting.

  3. 3

    Tidy cables

In-wall conduit run on plasterboard; trunking on solid walls.

TV Wall Mounting questions, answered

  • Can you hide the cables in the wall?
On plasterboard, almost always. On brick or concrete, we use trunking instead — neat but not invisible.
  • What size TV can a Bondi apartment plasterboard wall hold?
Up to ~75" with proper fixings into studs. Heavier than that, we anchor through to the masonry behind.
  • Will you mount a TV I bought online?
Yes — bring it out of the box and have the bracket ready. We supply standard brackets if needed.
